Replaced Leaking Water Heater in Oceanside, CA
The customer contacted us because a water heater in a tenant’s apartment was leaking. The water heater’s pressure release valve had failed, causing the leak. We checked the pressure regulator and discovered that it has a working pressure of 115psi, which is excessive. The gallon water heater was built in 1996 and did not provide enough hot water for a 2.5-bathroom home. We advised replacing the water heater with a new gallon Bradford white water heater and bringing it up to code. We turned off the water to the house and drained the system. We disconnected all connections to the water heater vent and the gas, water, and earthquake straps. The water supply to the house was restored, and the water heater was refilled.
